URGENT / DATE CHANGE -Help Needed – Food Bags/Boxes For The Richland School District

DATE CHANGE – PLEASE NOTE: Due to the rapid changes happening statewide, the original date for drop off had to be moved up by 2 days.  Please deliver the food bags to St. John’s Lutheran Church between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and noon on TUESDAY March 24th.

FOOD BAGS/BOXES FOR THE RICHLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT

(Food Insecure students and families)

 

Ten local churches have agreed, to deliver 5 food boxes each, to help our community during the week of spring break.

 

1] DELIVER LOCATION: Please deliver the food bags to St. John’s Lutheran Church between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and noon on Thursday, March 26th. They will then be delivered that afternoon.

2] DIRECTIONS: Please purchase non-perishable items. We do NOT have refrigeration and will be dropping things off at the door to reduce contact.

*Items to consider would be pasta, sauce, Hamburger helper boxes, Mac and Cheese, cereal, bread, and easy to prepare meal items.  Also, paper products, such as paper plates, napkins, toilet paper, etc. are also welcomed at this time. Two meals are requested.

*Please keep your purchase size to ONE box or bag per family (unless purchasing for a family of 5 or more) for ease of delivery purposes. Boxes are available if you need one.

* CLEARLY label each bag or box with the family’s number on it.

Please purchase non-perishable items.

 

3] EACH CHURCH’S COMMITMENT: to provide 5 food bags.

Please number the bags in this order, number 21-25

 Bag #21 is for a family of 3

 Bag #22 is for a family of 4

 Bag #23 is for a family of 3

 Bag #24 is for a family of 3

 Bag #25 is for a family of 6

Please join us as the Wisconsin Association of Confessing United Methodists (WACUM) and the Wesleyan Covenant Association – Wisconsin Chapter (WWCA) hold a joint spring meeting on Saturday, April 13, 2019.   Our speaker will be Rev. Keith Boyette.  He will be sharing his reflections on the Special Session General Conference 2019, the implications of the decisions that were made, and what the future of the United Methodist Church may look like.

Keith Boyette is President of the Wesleyan Covenant Association, and an elder in the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church. He is married to Pamela and they have three children and four grandchildren.  They live in Spotsylvania, Virginia.  Keith was the founding pastor of Wilderness Community Church and served as pastor for 19 years.  Keith is also licensed as an attorney in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  He practiced law in Richmond for 13 years before becoming a pastor.  From 2000 to 2008, he was a member of the Judicial Council of The United Methodist Church, our denomination’s supreme court.
